This award recognises Heywood’s innovation in helping LGPS funds to deliver more personalised, accessible and engaging member experience.
Heywood, a leading provider of pension technology and services, has been named Systems Provider of the Year at the LAPF Investments Awards 2026, recognising its work supporting Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) funds and their members.
The LAPF Investments Awards celebrate excellence across the UK public sector pensions industry, with winners selected by a judging panel of respected figures from across the sector.
Heywood’s award submission highlighted the impact of Heywood Engage, its member engagement solution, and in particular Video Engage, which enables pension funds to transform complex pension information into personalised and accessible video communications.
The technology has been designed to give funds greater flexibility in how they communicate with different member populations rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.
Funds have seen measurable changes in member engagement. Barking and Dagenham Pension Fund has reported stronger engagement with members who had previously been less likely to read traditional pension statements, while North East Scotland Pension Fund recorded an 80% increase in engagement following implementation of Video Engage.
Sian Jones, CEO of Heywood, said:
“Winning Systems Provider of the Year is fantastic recognition of what our teams are delivering for the LGPS and, ultimately, for millions of pension scheme members.
“Technology should make pensions easier to understand and easier to engage with. That means recognising that every member is different and giving funds the tools to communicate in ways that are personal, accessible and relevant to them.
“What makes this award particularly important to us is that it reflects the real-world impact of that approach. Helping funds reach members better and appreciate the importance of LGPS as a key part of their financial security or reconnect members who may even have previously disengaged from their pension, we are seeing technology create meaningful changes in how people connect with their financial future.
“We’re incredibly proud to receive this recognition and will continue working with our LGPS customers to find new ways to improve the experience they provide to their members.”
The award adds to a series of industry accolades for Heywood and its technology, reflecting its continued investment in technology designed to improve pension administration and member outcomes.
